SIL Providers

(Supported Independent Living)

Pathway to SDA is not only about building SDA homes. It’s about working with quality and valued SIL providers to ensure our participants get the BEST supports in their new home.

SDA housing is changing the landscape for SIL providers who will be required to adapt their services to a more flexible model to accommodate for a participant’s individual needs.

What we do.

Pathway to SDA work collaboratively with SIL providers to ensure staff are safe and supported and that SDA homes are a great place to work. This includes consulting with accommodation teams on the design of staff areas and incorporating staff needs into the design of homes so that they can best support our participants.

We work closely with SIL providers to ensure they get all the information they need to safely support participants in their new home. We work on getting the right NDIS funding for any Assistive Technology requirements and transition support funding to ensure a smooth transition. We coordinate the setup of paying bills, rent, food and furniture  – anything pertaining to moving in to a new home.

Pathway to SDA is determined to give participants and families a voice – to express their needs and wants without feeling like they are asking for too much. We all deserve to live the life we want and between all of us, we can help them achieve it.

Common questions from a parent:

“Can I go and visit my daughter any time or do I need to make an appointment?”

“Am I allowed to take my daughter home on weekends?”

“Is it ok for the whole family to go and visit?”

We don’t ask these types of questions when we visit our children without disabilities, and neither should the families we work for have to.

Let’s work together to make a change.

If you are a quality SIL provider who is determined to make supported accommodation a home for participants, rather than a workplace, then we look forward to working with you!
